The Hammer Shop.
I remember when I was a kid back in Dunkirk...we lived not too far from the Steel Plant...on warm summer evenings when all the windows were open you could hear the sound of the "Big hammer" up at the Steel Plant...I think it's one of the sounds you grew up with...like the freight trains rolling along the tracks...and the 4:00 whistle from the steel mills...and the Big Horn down by the lake sounding off for Fires...I guess for all us "Kids from Dunkirk" those are just some of the things we all recall from our time spent in Dunkirk!           Tim Donnelly   DHS  1970
